Welcome!

I have been fascinated by natural healing and aromatherapy since I was very young. Now that I am a Young Living Essential Oils distributor I get to learn about essential oils and their healing properties for real, and I love it!

To kick things off, here is a recipe for a wonderfully hydrating and revitalizing mask that is good for all skin types:

One scoop raw honey
4 drops orange essential oil
4 drops sandalwood essential oil

Blend together and apply to a clean, dry face, avoiding the eyes. Work into the skin using gentle, circular motions. Leave on for 20 minutes and then rinse with tepid water. Pat dry.

Raw honey is a natural humectant and antiseptic, and has been used for centuries to heal wounds. Don't used processed honey, as the pasteurization process removes much of the benefit. It is best to use raw local honey, as it may help with seasonal allergies, and you won't have to buy more than one jar. The naturally occurring grains in the honey will help exfoliate your skin, leaving it polished and glowing.

The essential oils, besides smelling wonderful, each have their own healing properties. Orange oil has a calming, uplifting effect on the psyche. It also is a natural humectant, imparting moisture to dry, tired skin.

Sandalwood oil promotes healthy, beautiful skin and is an excellent treatment for dry skin. It is effective in treating infection, and its fragrance has a relaxing effect on the psyche.

After applying the mask you may notice your face tingling a bit. That is the healing properties of the honey and oils working on your skin. If you feel burning or itching you should remove the mask right away, as you may be sensitive to one or more of its components.

This mask is fantastic when applied just before entering the tub for a nice, relaxing soak. The honey will draw the moisture from the air and help transfer it to your skin.

Enjoy!
